Backing up data: working documents, financial databases, audio, video, photo documents.

Needless to say, backing up working documents, accounting databases, audio, video photo documents on workstations or laptops is a must. The amount of processed information like that increases with time and, as a rule, some important data the loss of which may cause nothing but trouble tend to be among that information. That is why you should single out what data is of high importance to you and back it up with the help of Action Backup. And if you want to protect the backup copies you make against unauthorized access, you can also use Action Backup to set passwords of any strength for the backup files, which will ensure that only you can access the backups.

The generated backup copies should be stored in different locations (for instance, on another local or external hard drive, a USB flash drive and also all kinds of network resources or a remote FTP server). The Action Backup software allows you to specify ANY number of additional locations to copy your data backups to. Note that if the amount of data is too large to generate a backup copy, Action Backup allows you to use a differential backup or an incremental backup for the procedure. In this case, only new or modified files are added to a new backup copy. We recommend that you select the "Daily" mode in the backup task schedule settings in this case. This backup option allows you to generate up-to-date backup copies with minimum time and resource consumption.

Case 1: Backing up files to removable media.

Use this Action Backup option to increase chances of keeping backup copies in case they are lost on the hard drive of the computer or laptop. In this case, it is possible to save backup copies to an external hard drive, a USB flash drive or an SD card (Fig. 1):

It should be also mentioned that Action Backup allows you to back up data STORED ON REMOTE COMPUTERS. Thus, if you install Action Backup on just ONE computer, you will be able to create AUTOMATIC BACKUP COPIES FOR ALL COMPUTERS ON THE NETWORK. Action Backup will also be able to automatically save the generated backup copies to removable media (Fig. 2):

Case 2: Backing up files to FTP servers, remote workstations and burning them to CDs/DVDs.

Another useful option in Action Backup is to make multiple copies of the generated data backups. The risk of losing important information in this case (as in case 1) is completely reduced to zero because the generated backup copies are saved to locations physically remote from the hard drive of the computer (Fig. 3):

Similar to Case 1, below you can see the options for backing up data STORED ON REMOTE COMPUTERS to FTP servers, remote workstations and burning the created backup copies to CDs/DVDs (Fig. 4):

As you can see, the Action Backup software allows you to configure the backup procedure quite flexibly in an enterprise, in a small or medium company and also at home. You can create all kinds of backup variants combining the methods described in Cases 1 and 2. Action Backup will help you quickly and easily configure creating the correct and reliable data backup copies according to schedule (we suggest that you take a look at the following sections as well: Action Backup software features and Action Backup software test drive).

REMEMBER! Once you use Action Backup to configure saving automatic backup copies to removable media, to FTP servers or to network drives and also burning them to CDs/DVDs, you will experience no risk of losing some important information suddenly whatsoever!
